Last night, after we got out of the shower, Violet spit and it landed on her. (She loves to spit.) I said, "Violet quit spitting. You spit on yourself. That is disgusting."
Then she spit again.
"Quit spitting right now. STOP. Do you understand me?!" I said in my Mommie tone.
Violet said, "Mommie, I love you even though you yell at me."
I said, "I didn't yell at you. I am using a serious voice to discipline you."
In a voice just dripping with honey, Violet said, "I love you even though you are disciplining me. I could never HATE you. Never, ever, ever, ever, ever."
Then I just started laughing.
Violet said, "Mom, you're over-reacting."
